Justin completed his spring semester at the U of A on May 10th. Hard work and determination paid off with successful outcomes (A's and B's). Justin has been seeing a neuropsychologist to help him with reconnecting many areas of behavior, associations, awareness, insight and social intelligence. It has been determined that Justin would greatly benefit from intensive cognitive training. The pragmatic-semantic type of therapy Justin needs is not offered in Tucson and Justin will have to return to Barrow Neurological Institute to receive this rehabilitation. Although the therapeutic interventions and program will assist Justin in his recovery journey, the logistics of living in Phoenix for a while and the fact that insurance doesn't cover the cognitive training (Aetna covers a small portion) presents additional challenges. There is no doubt that Justin has experienced a life- altering event. We hope and pray that continued therapy will help him improve further.
